MTS Connection Manager will seamlessly connect your laptop to a variety of networks including your Home DSL connection, MTS residential or personal/business Wi-Fi gateways, MTS Wi-Fi Hotspots, and the MTS EVDO Wireless Internet network. MTS Wi-Fi Hotspots
All you need to get started is a Wi-Fi enabled laptop or PC, your MTS High Speed Internet account, and be at an MTS Wi-Fi Hotspot. MTS has a growing list of MTS Wi-Fi Hotspots around Manitoba.

To access MTS Wi-Fi service:

Visit an MTS Wi-Fi Hotspot and launch Internet Explorer
Enter your user ID (ie. userid@res1.mts.net)
Click on the Log In button and start surfing!
Visit http://www.mts.ca/wifimap for an Hotspot location near you and start enjoying the Internet away from the home or office.

Internet Express Stick on the MTS EVDO Wireless Internet Network
With the Internet Express Stick and your EVDO-enabled laptop or PC, you can enjoy High Speed access wherever there is MTS EVDO coverage. Check your email, view email attachments, and play games on the go. It will make you wonder how you ever managed without it.

Simply plug your Internet Express Stick into your laptop or PC.

It also covers costs the company incurs associated with interconnection arrangements; licensing fees associated with transmitter sites; and amounts related to federal, provincial, and/or municipal mandates.These mandates refer to programs and requirements such as 911 fees, Message Relay Service, Wireless Number Portability, and spectrum acquisition. Unlimited Email & Surf: Subject to customer's use of the service being what we consider “normal use”. Excessive use includes, without limitation, multimedia streaming, VOIP, or used to operate an email, web, news, chart or similar service. See mts.ca/excessiveuse for more information.

Availability: Hardware is subject to availability and service is subject to technical and network limitations. Hardware pricing applicable only to new or hardware upgrades on a minimum 6-month contract.

Internet Usage Included in Plans: Refers to 1x/EVDO cellular network usage for Internet browsing. EVDO Mobile Internet Network coverage in Manitoba is available within MTS EVDO coverage areas where technology permits. Coverage areas include Winnipeg, Brandon, Portage La Prairie, Winkler, Morden, Neepawa, Minnedosa, Onanole, Falcon Lake, Belair, Grand Beach/Victoria Beach, Selkirk, Gimli, Lac Du Bonnet, Thompson, Lorette, St. Adolphe, Steinbach, Jessica Lake, Winnipeg Beach, Garvin Road, St. Andrews, Anola, Ste. Anne, The Pas, Deception Bay/Clearwater Bay (Ontario) where technology permits. EVDO Mobile Internet Speed/Performance Claims – MTS’s EVDO network allows for data download speeds of up to 3.1 megabits per second (for MTS EVDO Rev A data connectivity devices). Data download speeds of 400-700 kilobits per second (for MTS EVDO Rev A data connectivity devices) are average technology speeds that users will experience based on manufacturer’s specifications. Data download speeds will vary depending on user’s location and hardware. Please see mts.ca/coverage for full current coverage map, including Canada and U.S. coverage.

Connection Manager: You must enter your MTS user ID and password on MTS sites prior to being able to access the Internet through such Hotspots. Auto Connect will enable auto connections of the MTS wireless data network when no alternative network connection is detected. Data usage and roaming charges will apply whenever you are connected to the Internet so you must log out or disable the service whenever connectivity is not required.

MTS Wi-Fi Hotspots: The security, confidentiality and privacy of wireless communications cannot be guaranteed. Use a Virtual Private Network and/or other appropriate hardware and software security features to help ensure the security of data and minimize the chance of interception. Access to MTS Wi-Fi service by more than one device at the same time may result in additional charges where such access results in use of the Wi-Fi service beyond what could be achieved by one device on a 24/7 basis. Evolve® prepaid customers fall into the Non-MTS High Speed Internet or Non-MTS Wireless Customer Rates.

It is easy to use. Once you download the roaming client software, it takes only a few moments to install on your laptop. The point-and-click software makes setup simple. In addition, you can use one Internet account and have the convenience of one user name and password worldwide.
This service is enabled through our partnership with iPass, a network of multiple top-tier ISP's. They provide great service in major business centers, making iPass the roaming service of choice for millions of Internet users worldwide.
When you use the roaming service in conjunction with a virtual private network (VPN) solution, you can gain secure access to your corporate network. iPass works with all industry leading VPN, firewall, and token card solutions.
Countries, cities, the available phone numbers and their associated dial-in properties can be found by downloading the iPass Client Software. You can view a complete list of the countries and cities where there are local access numbers on the iPass Website - and choose - Access Point finder at the top of the screen.

Rates
Roaming fees are on a "pay-per-use" basis and rates range by location. The roaming service charges will be included on your monthly MTS Internet Services bill. Roaming rates will appear on the second statement you receive after your roaming usage. Individual sessions will be charged at the hourly rate, in Canadian dollars, and displayed in your roaming connection manager. You will be charged based on minutes. Session lengths are raised to the next minute. The hourly rates can be found in the software once it has been downloaded onto your computer.

20 Filtering Categories
A selection of 20 different content filtering categories allows you to customize what your family can (and can’t!) access – from adult content and violent material to chat sites and online shopping. You can take comfort knowing your bases are covered – and your kids are well protected.

Password Protection
Internet Parental Controls are password protected and only accessible through an MTS site, which means only a person who knows the password can change your filter settings. And any changes to your settings are instantaneous, helping to allow maximum flexibility and protection while you’re online.

Always Up-To-Date Filters
There’s no need to install software on all of your computers or spend time downloading software updates. MTS manages and supports the service for you, so you will always have the latest filters on all the computers with MTS Internet access in your home.

Customizable Safe Lists
With the ability to create a list of "safe" places for your family to visit online, you decide what is appropriate for your family. For instance, you can override the blocking of a particular site if you feel that a filtering category is too strict. Or you can further restrict site access if you feel the category is too broad. It’s entirely up to you.

Site Monitoring
You can easily create reports on what sites have been viewed or blocked, to help you better determine which filtering categories to apply. Through this learning, you’ll be better informed and your family will be better protected. And that’s what it’s all about.
