Basic Requirements:
A telephone jack should be located within reach of your computer
(a 6 ft phone cord will be provided in the kit). If the jack is beyond 6 feet, you have a couple of options:
Move the computer closer to the telephone jack;
Install a jack closer to the computer. This can be initiated through the MTS Customer Care Centre.
System Requirements:
Your computer should meet the following system requirements for MTS High Speed Internet service. These are recommendations that will provide an acceptable service experience with MTS High Speed Internet.
Windows System Requirements
Operating System:
Windows: XP, Vista or 7
Processor:
Windows XP: Pentium II with 300 MHz
Windows Vista: 1 GHz
Memory:
Windows XP: 512 MB RAM
Windows Vista: 1 GB RAM
Hardware:
CD-ROM, Free PCI Slot / Ethernet Adapter, Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse
Hard Drive:
350 MB free hard drive space after operating system is installed.
Macintosh System Requirements
Operating System:
Mac OS 10.x or newer
Processor:
PowerMac of PowerBook G3
Memory:
512 MB RAM
Hardware:
CD-ROM, Free PCI Slot / Ethernet Adapter, Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse
Hard Drive:
350 MB free hard drive space after operating system is installed.
Discontinued Operating System Guidelines
Microsoft or Macintosh may discontinue support for an operating system at anytime. If this occurs, MTS Allstream Inc. may be unable to provide Help Desk support for customers using those operating systems.
If the system you are using does not meet these requirements, you may place your order for MTS High Speed Internet services, however, the MTS Internet Help Desk will support only the hardware and software requirements listed above. MTS in no way guarantees, makes any representation about, or supports the various IP devices (such as video game systems) or software not listed above that you might chose to use for accessing the internet.
